WEATHER ALERT: Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The 22News Storm Team has issued a Weather Alert for scattered strong to severe thunderstorms on Tuesday.

A Heat Advisory is in effect for central and eastern Hampden County from noon Monday until 8 PM Tuesday for heat index values that will make it feel around 95-100 degrees.

Humidity will increase and a scattered shower is possible overnight. Tuesday’s 7 am temperatures will be in the 70s. There is the chance for scattered showers in the morning.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely in the afternoon and early evening. One or two of those thunderstorms could be strong to severe, thus the 22News Storm Team Weather Alert on Tuesday. The heat and humidity continue on Tuesday, with high temperatures in the low 90s.

We’ll be cooler on Wednesday, but the chance for showers continues.
