Father speaks about the murder of his 14-year-old

SHARON, Pa., (WKBN) – The Mercer County community is looking to heal after one of their own was murdered late last month. When Pauly Likens was killed many lost a friend and — for some — a child.

Paul Likens Senior spoke about what he’s been going through since that terrible day.

“I said, ‘I love you and I’ll give you a call when I get home Monday after work,'” said Likens Sr.

He says that is the last thing he said to Pauly.

“It went straight to voicemail. Something told me that was wrong, something was going on,” he said.

Likens said he went to the last place Pauly was seen and continued looking.

“I knew — but I still had that hope,” he said.

Now he is coping with feelings of anger, rage, sadness and sorrow.

“But if I release that out into the world, that’s not going to do anyone any good,” he said.

Despite all the darkness and pain in the past two weeks, the light of Pauly’s pure and beautiful soul will be remembered for all the love and generosity that poured out.

“I sit with God, so God’s got my back. He’s been holding me up, making sure I don’t fall and I’m going to make it,” Likens Sr. said.
