42-year-old woman dies in crash in Charles City County

CHARLES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Following a crash on Sunday that killed a 42-year-old woman, Virginia State Police (VSP) is investigating.

According to police, on Sunday, July 7 at around 4:50 p.m., the vehicle 42-year-old Jessica Michell Childs was driving ran off the road and overturned on the eastbound lane of John Tyler Memorial Highway near Adkins Road in Charles City County.

Police reported that Childs succumbed to her injuries at the scene. She was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
