    Wildfire threatens Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch

    SANTA YNEZ, Calif. (WANE via STORYFUL) – Crews continued work on a wildfire burning in California’s Santa Barbara County on Monday, July 8.

    According to forest services , the fire, named the Lake Fire, began just north of Los Olivos, near Zaca Lake, on Friday afternoon.

    As of Monday, the Lake fire was approximately 21,763 acres in size and was only 8 percent contained, according to CAL FIRE .

    County officials issued evacuation warnings and orders for several roads in the area.

    Footage filmed on Figueroa Mountain Rd by Scott Safechuck, the Public Information Officer for the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, shows smoke rising from the mountains on Monday, July 8.

    According to Safechuck , the fire was burning close to Neverland Valley Ranch, the large estate previously owned by Michael Jackson.
