Spain's Lamine Yamal became the youngest scorer in European Championship history whe he scored the 1-1 equalizer in the semi-final against France on Tuesday.

Yamal, who turns 17 on Saturday, curled into the top left corner via the post in the 21st minute in Munich, after three assists earlier in the tournament.

At 16 years 362 days, Yamal is more than a year younger than Swiss Johan Vonlanthen who was the previously youngest scorer at 18 years 141 days whe he netted at Euro 2004, also against France.

That also makes him the youngest man to play in a semi-final and find the net at the Euros and the World Cup. Brazil icon Pele was 17 years 239 when he scored at the 1958 World and 17 years 244 days when he played in the semi-final.
