AKRON , Ohio (WJW) — A woman was arrested after firing a gun outside an Akron home, then shooting at the resident’s car when he came home, according to police.

She had “no apparent reason” to be there, investigators learned.

Officers on Tuesday responded to the home in the 2000 block of West 18th Street for a report of a suspicious woman with a gun on the home’s porch. They were told the woman had fired multiple shots while outside, according to a Wednesday news release.

Officers arrested Brandy L. Parsons, 33, of Akron, “without incident.” She’s now facing felony counts of assault and discharging a firearm at or into a habitation as well as misdemeanor counts of aggravated trespassing, criminal damaging and discharging firearms, according to Akron Municipal Court records.

“During the initial investigation, the officers determined that there appeared to be no apparent reason for the woman to have been at the residence,” reads the release. “When Parsons started knocking on the front door, a victim inside the home called his father. When the father pulled into the driveway, the suspect fired at least three shots in his direction, striking the vehicle.”

The house was also struck three times by gunfire, according to the release. Officers found the gun at the scene as well as multiple shell casings on the front porch, according to the release.

Parsons was due for arraignment on Wednesday morning, and was being held on a combined $20,000 bond, court records show.
