    Five teens accused of robbing, beating homeless men in French Quarter

    NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — A group of teenagers has been arrested after New Orleans police claim they targeted the homeless community in an armed robbery.

    According to the New Orleans Police Department, on Sunday, July 7 at 2:35 a.m., 19-year-old Keith Morvant, 19-year-old Leland Fitch, 19-year-old Jaden LeBeouf and two unidentified teenagers were in the 400 block of St. Peter Street when they approached two homeless men.

    Officers said the group approached the first victim and allegedly began to beat him in the head with a gun.

    They then approached a second victim and allegedly took his backpack and bike before hitting him with the gun, throwing his belongings into the river and running away.

    All the teenagers were later found on Iberville Street and were arrested the same day.

    The first victim was taken to a hospital for treatment. His condition was not released.
