It is so unbelievably hot outside right now that most parents and caregivers have changed their feelings about screen time, opting to let their kiddos spend as much time as they need to chilling out indoors to try and stay safe.

But for those who absolutely need their kids to get in some quality outdoor time, having them use water toys seems like the kindest way to make it happen. Not only can splashing around with these particular toys be fun, but it can also make staying outside when the "feels like" temperature has reached triple digits a little less like torture.

Except, not everyone has the big bucks you'll need to outfit your space with water features, which is why we're obsessed with this mom's budget friendly hack.

Go ahead and take a few extra minutes in the AC and watch this video before heading out to make your own version of this fun design.

We think that @lydiagca is onto something with her DIY design. Not only does it allow her to come up with some less expensive alternatives to the pricier picks sold in stores, but she can also customize it so that she's including the things her kiddos actually like to use.

With the heat as bad as it has been this summer, we're sure the OP's kids are grateful to have something this clever to play with!

Moms are super smart when it comes to creating and storing the things their kids like to play with.

Don't believe us? Take a look at how this mama made the most of her vertical space with this smart storage hack.

    Mom Hangs Daughter's Toys Up

More over Picasso, there's a new artist in town and she answers to "mom." Take a look at how this clever mama emptied all of the boardgames out of the boxes in her daughter's room, opting to frame them and mount them on the wall s instead.

Not only did this make it harder for her to get into the boardgames when she wasn't supposed to be using them (potentially losing pieces), but it also freed up some valuable storage space for other items that needed to be sorted and organized.

We're not going to lie, we really like this concept, especially if it will keep our little kids from getting into the games and losing all the tokens before we get a chance to play!

    DIY Water Wall Saves Summer

For those looking for a way to make the outside fun again when it's 100 plus degrees, we suggest this brilliant water toy.

It looks easy enough for even the most novice DIYer to make, and it seems like something just about any kid would like to splash around in, especially in this weather!

Heck, we may even join them!
