Bus drivers come together for Martz Bus ‘Road-eo’ in Luzerne County

WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Great American Getaway 400 is days away, but another race took place Wednesday in Luzerne County.

Bus drivers from across the country came together at Mohegan Sun Arena for Martz’s Second Annual Road-eo.

Drivers could win cash prizes along with trophies.

The Road-eo helps bus drivers learn more about driving a large passenger bus in tough situations, without the dangers of the real world.

Drivers are tested in five different areas on the course and are docked points if they hit obstacles.

“I like the situation due to the fact that they created a fun environment into which you can have a high-stress environment. Still, enjoy it, and you’re able to nitpick on yourself after the fact to see where you can improve,” said New Jersey resident Sergio Velez.

Wednesday’s was the final round of the competition.
