Cathy Stewart passed away peacefully on July 8th, 2024, born in Coco Beach, Florida, to James Bennett Dodson and Doris “Toone”. Throughout her life, Cathy was deeply committed to her family and took great pride in her Cherokee heritage.

She was a devoted wife to Dwayne Stewart and a loving mother to her sons, Jimi Stewart and Bob Stewart, married to Tonya, with two sons, Aaron and Hunter. Cathy cherished her role as a grandmother, finding joy in their company and in sharing her passions with them.

Cathy had a love of taking photos, particularly capturing moments of happiness, family gatherings, and of her travels. Her adventurous spirit led her to explore various destinations, often staying in unique and unconventional accommodations, where she forged lasting friendships and gathered cherished memories.

She was an avid collector of postcards and trinkets, with a special fondness for rocks that she collected as souvenirs of her adventures and her appreciation for the natural world. She was always fond of butterflies and found joy anytime she saw one fluttering around through the air.

Known for her sociable nature, Cathy had an effortless ability to connect with others, leaving a positive impact on everyone she encountered. She enjoyed good food and the camaraderie of shared meals, which brought her great happiness. Her curiosity and zest for life were evident in her enthusiasm for new experiences, inspiring those around her to embrace life fully.

The beach was a source of solace for Cathy, providing her with moments of peace when she was by the sea. The world’s worries, the weariness washed away with the sound of the waves when she was at the beach.

Cathy Stewart’s passing is deeply felt by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. While she will be greatly missed, her legacy of love, adventure, and compassion will endure in the memories of those whose lives she touched
