Earlier today the USMNT made it official that Gregg Berhalter has been relieved of his duties as coach of the Head Coach. Before the news was announced, former USMNT star turned analyst Eric Wynalda joined Will Palaszczuk to have an honest conversation on the many questions surrounding the US Men’s Soccer team after an embarrassing performance in COPA America.

While Eric didn’t know about Berhalter being fired during the interview, he made it clear to Will that he felt like this has been coming for a while, and he thinks the performance throughout the last 2 games of group play in COPA America was the final blow. When it comes to a new vision Eric thinks the team doesn’t need to focus on a certain system and unleash the player’s talents, but the accountability has to be there as well moving forward.

Eric would also go on to discuss whether or not the bridge can be rebuilt with Jessie Marsch, and if this was the wake-up call that the USMNT needed before the World Cup.
