DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — A Greene County family is mourning the loss of a child after a tragic accident.
Just after 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to a home on North Bickett Road on reports of a crash involving a 3-year-old.

In a terrifying 911 call, the caller says people were in distress that a child was involved in an accident with a family member’s car.
Upon arrival, deputies found the 3-year-old was run over by a vehicle backing out of the driveway. The child was rushed to a local area hospital where they were pronounced dead.
Authorities say the incident was an accident, and the driver was unaware the child was in the driveway. That person told deputies they thought the child was in the yard.
“We really hate going to calls like this. It’s unfortunate. And again, it’s just it’s something that happens at no fault of the of the individuals that again they just we’re not able to see the young child who was moving in the path of the car at a time when no one thought it would be,” said Scott Anger, Greene County Sheriff’s Office.

Due to their upsetting nature, WDTN is not sharing the 911 calls.
