While known for creating the band Bon Jovi, releasing numerous albums, and holding countless awards, Jon Bon Jovi also nurtured a promising career on the silver screen. He appeared in shows like Sex and the City, 30 Rock, and The West Wing. Although thrilled about the success that followed him throughout the decades, the singer recently announced that his mother, Carol Bongiovi, passed away. Having such an impact on his life, Bon Jovi not only released a statement but shared a touching tribute to his mother.

For Bon Jovi, he looked forward to celebrating his mother turning 84 years old. But just a few days before the celebration, Carol passed away. Before helping inspire Bon Jovi to chase his dreams of stardom, his mother served in the United States Marine Corps and was even a Playboy Bunny. Never forgetting the impact she had on his life, Bon Jovi took a moment to post a video of his song “Story of Love”, which featured snippets of his own childhood. He captioned the post, writing, “Momma, we carry you with us always.”

Jon Bon Jovi Recalls Massive Support He Received From Parents

Gaining over 60,000 likes, fans and fellow musicians showered Bon Jovi with love and support. Comments included, “I’m so very sorry to hear about the loss of your mom! My mom passed away last year and I miss her everyday.” Another comment added, “So sorry! Sending all my love to you and your family. I lost my mom when I was 17 (1991), your songs helped me a lot!” And one person insisted, “I‘m so sorry for the loss of your beloved mother. Deepest condolences to you and your family. I wish you much strength during this painful time. Rest in peace Mrs. Bongiovi.”

Besides being his mother, Carol also supported Bon Jovi when he wanted to pursue a career in music. Back in 2020, the singer sat down with The Big Issue to discuss his parent’s support. He said, “Even if you truly weren’t any good at your craft, if you believed you were, you could work on it. As I got older I realized that was a great gift that I got from my folks. They truly believed in the John Kennedy mantra of going to the moon. ‘Yeah, of course, you can go to the moon. Just go, Johnny.’ And there I went.”
