Now this is my kind of drinking game. And why am I not one bit surprised that Miranda Lambert came up with this... In an interview with the LA Times a couple years ago around the time of the release of her Palomino
album,  the native Texan and country star dropped details on a brilliant little drinking game she likes to play with her friends. Called Death By , they each try to top someone else with the most miserable tune they can think of. If sad country songs make you as happy as they make me, then you'll probably blackout playing this, and Miranda agrees: "By the end we’re all drunk and crying and loving it." Just brilliant... if you get it, you get it. And she didn't detail all of the exact rules, but I'm sure you can get creative in terms of how exactly you want to run it. One of Miranda's secret weapons in terms of heart-wrenching songs is Doug Stone’s "I’d Be Better Off in a Pine Box", and I have a feeling she usually comes out on top. I think I'm gonna have to give this game a go over the weekend... probably while listening to one of her most recent releases "Dammit Randy": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_lbvEAuBuQ
