Eight-time Super Bowl champion coach Bill Belichick is joining “Inside the NFL” for the 2024 season, The CW Network announced Thursday. Belichick will also appear on the “ManningCast” during ESPN’s “Monday Night Football.” He coached the New England Patriots to six Super Bowl titles during his 24-year tenure.

Bill Belichick will appear on The CW’s “Inside the NFL” along with ESPN’s “ManningCast” and “The Pat McAfee Show”

In April, Belichick joined “The Pat McAfee Show” for its NFL draft coverage. According to ESPN’s sources, the three-time AP NFL Coach of the Year is scheduled to appear weekly on the show during the 2024 NFL season.

Belichick joins Ryan Clark, Chad Johnson, and Chris Long on the “Inside the NFL” panel. Of course, Johnson and Long each played one season for Belichick in New England.

“Bill Belichick joining ‘Inside the NFL’ is a true game-changer for this storied franchise and The CW,” Dennis Miller, president of The CW Network, said in a press release. “Not only is he one of the most accomplished coaches in NFL history, but his knowledge and passion for football is truly unmatched.

“Fans will now get the chance to hear his insights and better understand the nuances of the game from the master himself. We cannot wait for Bill, Ryan, Chad, and Chris to deliver a championship-caliber show all season long.”

Belichick, 72, left New England with 333 career victories (including playoffs). He ranks second all time behind Don Shula and his 347 wins. The former Patriots coach is the only head coach in NFL history to win six super bowls. He also won two super bowls as defensive coordinator of the New York Giants.

Belichick is excited to join his new team at NFL Films

“I’m thrilled to join my new team at NFL Films and to work on such a historic television franchise,” Bill Belichick said in a statement. “I’ve always appreciated ‘Inside the NFL’s’ depth of analysis. I hope to bring the same detailed insight to The CW by talking real football with real pros — Ryan, Chris, and Chad — this coming season.”

Additionally, Belichick was nominated for a Sports Emmy for Outstanding Studio Analyst for his work on the 2019 NFL Films series “NFL 100 All-Time Team,” which aired on NFL Network.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Belichick would pursue another head coaching job. However, his options were limited after the Atlanta Falcons decided to hire Raheem Morris over him.

“He was going to be picky anyway,” a source informed Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports. “He needs someone to give him total control.”

It was also reported that “every network would want him,” an anonymous media agent said then. Taking a year off from coaching could give Belichick time to put together a staff. This would help prepare him for his eventual return.

At the moment, Bill Belichick is just 15 wins away from breaking Shula’s all-time record. Since the NFL legend “still has a desire to coach,” a return is possible in the near future.

“Inside the NFL” will premiere on The CW at 9 p.m. ET on Friday, Aug. 30.
