Wayne Brady Details His Decision to Open Up About Sexuality in New Video: 'I Don't Want to Feel This Weight'

Wayne Brady came out as pansexual last summer, but it's only now that he is really letting people behind-the-scenes to see his emotional journey to this personal announcement.

The Whose Line Is It Anyway? star shared why he decided to reveal his sexuality to the world in a video previewing his upcoming reality TV series, Wayne Brady: The Family Remix , with the 52-year-old saying, "I don't want to be depressed anymore. I don't want to feel this weight anymore."

"The biggest question for me this entire journey has been, 'Who is Wayne Brady?'" said the TV star as he touched on everything he's gone through recently, with the video showing clips of Brady crying and laughing.

Brady's daughter, Maile , also spoke about his personal life and how he was before the announcement, saying, "You haven't been living 100 percent authentically, and people don't know you."

When Brady shared that he was pansexual, he said, "I realized that I had a problem because if I can spend everything on stage and on camera but then I come home and there is a love deficit, what is going on? That was my rock bottom."

He also touched on having a lot of support from the LGBTQ+ community over the years yet, "I've always felt like a sham because I wasn't being forthcoming with myself." After the announcement, Brady reflected on how it changed him , declaring, "I'm not hiding anything now."

For fans interested in learning more about Brady and his life, the new reality show will focus on him, his daughter Maile, his ex-wife and current business partner, Mandie Taketa , and Mandie's life partner, Jason Michael Fordham . Brady shares Maile with Mandie, while Mandie and Jason have a son named Sundance-Isamu .

Wayne Brady: The Family Remix is set to premiere on Freeform on July 24, with new episodes streaming on Hulu the next day.
