    Wilkes County man dies after hitting dog, being thrown from motorcycle, troopers say

    ROARING RIVER, N.C. (WGHP) — A man is dead after he was thrown from a motorcycle when he hit a dog in Wilkes County on Thursday, according to an NC State Highway Patrol news release.

    Around 2 p.m. p.m., troopers responded to and investigated a fatal crash in Wilkes County on Bethany Ford Road near Royal Hill Road.

    A 2008 Harley-Davidson was going north on Bethany Ford Road and hit a dog in the road.

    Fabieus Mark Myers, 55, of Hays, lost control of the motorcycle, it overturned and he was thrown off.

    Myers died while being taken to the hospital by EMS.

    The driver, Fabieus Mark Myers, 55, of Hays, succumbed to his injuries while being transported by EMS to an area hospital.

    Investigators said speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
