If you didn't already have plans to make a Lowe's run this weekend, you do now. That's because Lowe's is having a sale on the perennial plants, which one woman on TikTok says is going to help your garden out in the long run.

Take a look at this video and learn why she says now is the time to buy these sometimes rough looking flowers even if you think it's too late in the season to add anything new to the garden.

Trust us, your future self will thank you when you see these new flowers in full bloom at the start of the next growing season!

We're excited about @krystiemin's advice, because it will help us get some really pretty plants for next summer at a significant discount. Incase you didn't know, perennials come back year after year. So, if you're looking at some of these dry, damaged, or just plain sad looking plants in the store you should focus more on what they'll look like next year after having a chance to get established in your garden.

As she points out with the speedwells , gardening is a long game, and it's not just about what you have right now, but more about what you're building for the future!

Lowe's will hardly be the only store selling off perennials this weekend. Nurseries across the board will be looking to get rid of their excess stock while they can. Believe it or not, in just a few short weeks people won't be thinking about their summer gardens anymore. Instead, they'll be planning for fall and beyond!

Plant Perennials Now and Enjoy Them Next Summer

While you can still get your hands on some plants that you can enjoy this season, it's definitely okay to think again. And speedwells aren't the only plants you should be on the lookout for this weekend while you try and hit mid-season sales.

There are plenty of other drought tolerant summer favorites out there that will do well in your garden, like coneflowers and daisies . If you live in an area that doesn't have very hot or very dry temperatures all summer long you can look at other options, like coreopsis and daylilies .

Check Your Local Garden Center's Perennial Sales

Like we said, you don't just have to hit Lowe's if you're looking for a good deal on flowers, a lot of different garden centers and places that sell outdoor plants will be trying to clear out their stock before the season ends.

Not only do they want to sell it while people are still enjoying summer and focused on planting in their gardens, but they want to sell them while they still look good! So take advantage and shop today!
