MADISON, Wis. -- Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin said Friday she helped deliver $4 million for the Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin, aimed at building out their healthcare specific apprenticeship programs.

The funding is provided through the U.S. Department of Labor’s Apprenticeship Building America grant program.

Baldwin said the programs will provide pathways for Wisconsinites to land good paying jobs in an in-demand field, and will help meet growing workforce needs. Baldwin helped write and pass part of the omnibus bill that invests $285 million in apprenticeship programs for this fiscal year.

Baldwin said the funding comes through the U.S. Department of Labor's "Apprenticeship Building America" grant program. WDBSCW said it will use the money to build healthcare apprenticeship pathways, address the demand for skilled healthcare professionals, and provide individuals with high-quality training for rewarding, family-supporting jobs.
