MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection announced Thursday its 77th Alice in Dairyland, Halei Heinzel, of Oconomowoc, officially started her position.

The DATCP said Alice in Dairyland is a one-year, full-time public relations professional position that promotes Wisconsin agriculture across the state. Alice conducts hundreds of media interviews, speeches, and school presentations in her position, a job that Heinzel has just recently begun.

Heinzel said her goal is to educate audiences about the importance of Wisconsin's diverse agriculture industry, how it impacts residents' daily lives, and the economic impact it has on the state's economy.

Residents can keep up with Heinzel by visiting her blog, or interacting with her social media presence on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X. The 78th Alice in Dairyland will be crowned May 15-17, 2025.
