BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) — A Bismarck man was arrested Thursday afternoon following a seven-hour standoff that involved multiple police agencies.

The incident began around 4:00 p.m., July 11, when a Bismarck Police officer on routine patrol attempted to stop a 41-year-old male riding a bicycle. The man fled on foot from police, who confirmed he had arrest warrants pending from an incident on July 10.

The suspect entered a residence in the 1000 block of Summit Boulevard and apparently entered the attic of the residence.

An arrest warrant was issued and the Bismarck Police Unmanned Aircraft Systems Team and the West Dakota SWAT team were called to the scene.

With assistance from the Bismarck Fire Department, the West Dakota SWAT Team located the suspect in the attic and, around 11:25 p.m., he was taken into custody without incident.

He was taken to the Burleigh Morton Detention Center and held on charges of Burglary, Theft of Property, Fleeing a Peace Officer in a Motor Vehicle, Refusal to Halt, Reckless Endangerment and Driving Under Suspension. Additional charges are pending with the Burleigh County State’s Attorney’s Office.
