Mesa, AZ - A massive fire broke out in Mesa, Arizona, yesterday afternoon around 3:30 PM, destroying two homes and causing chaos in the neighborhood. The blaze started at the intersection of University Dr. and 98th Street when a transformer exploded, quickly spreading to nearby houses.

Emergency units from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, Rural Metro Fire Department, and Superstition Fire and Medical rushed to the scene. Our iSkyNews Reporter, Ryan De La Torre, was on the scene to cover the story and witnessed the dramatic events as they unfolded.

Residents on the scene recounted that the transformer explosion sparked the initial fire, which then spread to a second house due to flying sparks. Miraculously, no injuries have been reported.

Roads in the area were closed for several hours as firefighters worked to control and extinguish the blaze. As of this morning, the fire has been fully extinguished, and all emergency units have returned to service.

The cause of the transformer explosion remains under investigation. Authorities urge residents to report any electrical issues to prevent future incidents.
