The Faribault Soccer Club ran another successful summer program, which consists of students aged pre-school to 18 years old. Signups are in February and the season takes place in May and June.

The club plays in the Southern Minnesota Soccer League, which is affiliated with the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association, U.S. Youth Soccer, and U.S.A. Soccer.

Coached by Mitch Anderson and Erika Frear, the U16 team finished with a 5-4-2 record. About half of the team participated in a winter program through Cannon Valley Sting Soccer Club which was sponsored by ServiceMaster, so they were eager to get back on the field this spring.

The U12 girls were a mix of experienced and younger players, and they had a tough season with an 0-10 record. They were coached by Britta Peterson-Linde and Mercedes Huerta and are looking forward to continuing their hard work this fall.

The Faribault Soccer Club had four boys teams for the summer: U18, U16, U14 and U12. The U18 team struggled with injuries, but came out on top with a 7-3 record, finishing second in their division. They were coached by Abby Stroup, Luis Madrid and Angie Robb. They will be a force to recon with in the Big 9 conference this fall. {p dir=”ltr”}The U16 team proved be strong competitors as well, closing the season fourth in their division with a 5-3-2 record.
