Authorities investigating the death of Matthew Perry are reportedly "confident" they will find any suspects involved and bring them to justice.

According to a report by TMZ on Friday (July 12), agents with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) believe they have what it takes to charge anyone suspected of helping the Friends actor obtain the ketamine that contributed to his tragic death last year, including charging suspects with drug distribution resulting in death or great bodily injury, which has a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years behind bars.

Sources told the outlet that the DEA is not just investigating suspected drug dealers but also doctors who potentially wrote prescriptions "deemed outside the score of medical necessity" and other "key people in Hollywood." It was reported last month that multiple people could face charges in connection to Perry's death.

Perry was just 54 years old when he passed away October 28, 2023, after he was discovered unresponsive in a hot tub at his home. His death was initially ruled "accidental" and the case was closed, but it was reopened earlier this year months after the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner determined he died from "the acute effects of ketamine."

Friends of the late actor have since reflected on their relationship with Perry , including his Friends costars. Lisa Kudrow recently shared how she helps keep her pal's memory alive while Courteney Cox said he "visits her a lot."
