Starting her career during the 1960s, Stevie Nicks gained stardom thanks to her time with the iconic band Fleetwood Mac. With the group releasing albums like Fleetwood Mac, Bella Donna, and Rumours, Billboard named them on their Greatest of All Time Billboard 200 Albums list. Fleetwood Mac even gained a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But for Nicks, she became the first woman to be inducted twice. First for her time with the band and second for her solo career. With such a rich history in music, the singer recently welcomed Harry Styles to the stage to give a special tribute to her fellow bandmate Christine McVie.

While McVie would have turned 81 years old on July 12th, the singer passed away back in November 2022 when she suffered a stroke. Although passing away nearly two years ago, Nicks hoped to celebrate her memory alongside the former member of One Direction.

Speaking to the sea of fans in attendance, Nicks said, “At the end of the show, since the end of last year and since Christine passed away, I would say something about her, and I asked Harry to do this with me and it’s a lot to ask someone to sing a heavy song about a best friend that died so suddenly and so sadly. What I want to say to you is that Christine was Harry’s girl, she was my girl, she was your girl, and she loved all of you, and today would’ve been her birthday.”

Stevie Nicks Explains How She Deals With Painful Moments

Honoring her late friend with a duet of “Landslide”, Nicks once explained how she deals with painful moments in life. According to the star, “One thing my mom used to say to me when I was little, when I was hurt, was ‘Stevie when you’re hurt, you always run to the stage’. And that’s what I have been doing ever since Chris passed away, I’ve been running to the stage. And the only people who have helped me to get over all of this, has been all of you.”

For one fan, she recalled seeing Fleetwood Mac in concert before McVie passed. She insisted, “I was lucky enough to see Fleetwood Mac on their 2019 tour at Madison Square Garden in New York City. It was Christine’s last tour with the band before she passed. It was one of the most amazing shows I’ve had the privilege to attend.”
