Vince Carter holds the record for the longest career of any NBA player in history, which led to him becoming teammates with many players, including Dell Curry .

Being teammates with Dell led to playing with Steph Curry before he made it to the league. Carter was one of the first players to see his potential, as he was learning from his deadeye shooter father, who was an NBA veteran.

"I just remember coming up and getting my workout in before the game; once I finished the workout, I used to tell Steph to play me one-on-one every game," Carter said about Steph in 2016. "All of a sudden in the NBA, seeing him win the championship, win the MVP, I'm just like, this is the same kid I used to play one-on-one. He had it all, then. His mindset was like, 'Hey, this time Imma beat you.'"

    Steph learned from those one-on-ones

Any time a kid can play against a top NBA star, they will learn a lot from those short moments. Considering Steph was around Carter for three years, that meant he kept learning from Vinsanity. The younger Curry was already learning from his paternal tutelage, but adding advice from Carter was a big deal.

Steph learned from Vince, which matters because the youngster got an in-depth look at what it was like to be an NBA star. Dell had the perimeter shooting but was not as good as his teammate, Vince, whom Dell has praised for his absurd shotmaking ability .

The advice helped the younger Curry because he kept learning from everyone around the team, which led to him developing into a star in high school, college at Davidson, and eventually, the NBA.

Since Carter was among the league's best shooting guards at the time, Steph was learning from a superstar player, which contributed to his becoming an NBA player and a superstar playing against a veteran Vince.

When Carter retired in 2020, Steph was one of the players who thanked him. For Curry he gave context into their relationship and showed gratitude for helping him become a better player as a kid.

"Seen you up close and personal since I was 10 @mrvincecarter15. Thank you for changing the game, my man! Enjoy the next chapter in your life. well deserved," Steph said on X (formerly Twitter).

Steph is now one of the best players in NBA history

Steph has developed into one of the best players in NBA history with what he did and is doing for the Golden State Warriors. Two regular season MVPs, a Finals MVP, and four NBA championships look good to any player, but Curry achieved even more.

Curry is widely known as the greatest three-point shooter ever and the most influential player who changed basketball with his style. Vince saw greatness in him as a ten-year-old, but Steph has surpassed those expectations with how much he has impacted the game.
