SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) — A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision in Little Cottonwood Canyon Friday night, according to the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

At around 7:45 p.m. on July 12, a motorcyclist, identified as Neil Munroe, 38, was heading westbound on Little Cottonwood Canyon Road.

Two pedestrians killed on I-215 in Salt Lake City overnight, UHP says

According to officials, Munroe “lost control while navigating a turn” and crashed into an oncoming vehicle at a section of the road near the Iron Blosam Hotel at Snowbird.

Unified Fire Authority personnel responded and pronounced Munroe deceased at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle is fully cooperating with the investigation, officials said.

The road was closed for several hours following the crash.
