Five NFL First Round Picks Who Still Haven't Been Signed By Their Respective Teams Yet

The NFL Draft happened over two months ago but many of the top players from the city of Detroit's NFL event still have not been signed yet.

The five players who remained unsigned as of Saturday include a former national championship winning quarterback, a fearsome defender and a former Heisman Trophy winner.

Those players include the following according to a report from The Sporting News on Saturday:

-Caleb Williams, Chicago (#1 overall draft pick)

-Rome Odunze, Chicago (#9)

-JJ McCarthy, Minnesota (#10)

-Dallas Turner, Minnesota (#17)

-Amarius Mims, Cincinnati (#18)

Four of the five players are from the NFL's NFC North Division, a strange trend that includes two of the most high-profile quarterbacks to enter the league in many years.

Caleb Williams is the former Heisman Trophy winner from Coach Lincoln Riley's USC Trojans program and JJ McCarthy is the national championship winning quarterback from Jim Harbaugh's Michigan Wolverines, who lost just one game as a starting quarterback during his college football career while capturing the 2024 national championship.

The NFL's 2024 preseason opener is Thursday, August 1, featuring the Houston Texans against Williams and Odunze's Bears on ESPN.
