ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – Phillips 66 recently donated $29 thousand to Odessa Police Department’s Drone Program, which aims to help keep officers out of danger.

The City of Odessa said the OPD Drone Program allows officers to search large areas with minimal resources and locate elements or crimes, persons, and areas of concern. The City added that OPD has used drones to find evading subjects and missing persons, secured perimeters and buildings without placing officers in danger, and assisted in monitoring public events more efficiently.
