Ever since leaving the NFL back in 2017, Pat McAfee has made himself into a media sensation.

The former two-time Pro Bowl punter has been everything from a stand-up comedian to a sports commentator for WWE, NFL, and college football, plus McAfee is the host of his own podcast.

Back in October of last year, McAfee signed a five-year, $85 million contract with ESPN, making him available for multiple appearances, including College GameDay, and bringing his podcast, The Pat McAfee Show , to the network.

You could say that being behind a microphone in some capacity has given McAfee his newfound fame post-NFL. And now he can't wait to get in front of one again.

In a post on his X account Saturday evening, McAfee, who is never one to mince words, left viewers in suspense when he wrote, "Man.. I can't wait to get back on a microphone."

McAfee never alluded to exactly why he was so anxious to get back behind a microphone. But that didn't stop many from making their assumptions. One of those was Serena Williams' jab at him during the ESPYs over his past comments about Caitlin Clark . The other was the events involving former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania on Saturday.

However, it could also be that The Pat McAfee Show has been on a two-week hiatus, with the last episode on June 28. The show is set to return on Monday, July 15.

After the two-week absence, McAfee should have a lot to say, whether it involves events in the sports world or not. As polarizing as the 37-year-old host has been in the past, Monday's episode should be one that's considered can't-miss.
