You just never know what you might pull from the depths or see while you are around the water. All rivers, streams and lakes support an abundance of fish and wildlife, getting out there fishing is one of the best ways to have cool experiences and encounters with these things. Catching cool fish is just one of the things that makes fishing great. Really it’s the only way for most people to get close to wild fish. Rainbow trout a favorite across North America, primarily located in many western watersheds, but they've become a popular sport fish to stock lakes with as well. They are fun to fish and good to eat, making them loved far and wide. With so many rainbows around there must be some weird ones every once in a while. This fisherman caught a strange rainbow when out for a day on the water. The video shows him netting a nice sized trout but it looks different. Every single on of its fins are elongated, looking to be stretched out. An angler in the comments section provided some insight:
"This fish is expressing a recessive fin trait that statistically is very rare, but in smaller gene pools can happen more frequently. I’ve caught two rainbows in this condition but they were clearly hatchery based. Still happens on its own though regardless of wild or hatchery spawning." That looks like something out of a movie. Certainly, a unique catch. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C56UhkBuKVC/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
