While only breaking into the music industry just a few years ago, Megan Moroney is proving herself to be a strong addition to country music. Releasing songs like “Tennessee Orange”, the country singer also released two studio albums. Her last, Am I Okay?, hit shelves on July 12. And besides releasing new music and gaining praise from fans, Moroney also hit the road with Kenny Chesney for his Sun Goes Down tour. Standing behind one of the top names in country music, it seems that Moroney is doing everything she can to soak up all the tips and tricks from watching Chesney on stage.

Knowing that her career just started in country music, Moroney told People that she constantly watches Chesney on stage. She said, “I literally watch his whole show every night— side stage— trying to learn from him. From everything he does on the stage to interacting with his fans, I’m trying to take note of every move he makes.”

Trying to grasp how Chesney helms numerous sold-out shows, Moroney pointed to not drugs or alcohol but ice baths and a strong diet. “Even off stage, the routine that [Kenny] sticks to? He hasn’t drank this entire tour and he does ice baths and he has a very strict diet. I’ve just been trying to absorb all of his knowledge because he obviously has so much of it.”

Megan Moroney Still Shocked She Gets To Perform With Kenny Chesney

Having performed alongside Chesney at venues like the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Moroney insisted, “It was his eighth time playing and selling out that stadium! I’m like, ‘That is insane. I need to learn everything I can.’ I think sometimes the openers will just go to their bus because you’re obviously tired, but I’m like, ‘No, we’re standing side stage and we’re taking notes because he is a legend.’”

While taking some pointers from Chesney, nothing thrilled Moroney more than simply getting the chance to sing with him. “When I go on stage with Kenny Chesney in a stadium and I sing with him? I grew up listening to him. And we sing ‘You and Tequila’ and ‘All the Pretty Girls’ together every night and those moments still surprise me every week. Or I’ll be side stage and I literally turn around and I’m like, ‘Holy crap, that’s Kenny Chesney.’ And I’m literally friends with him.”
