Carlos Alcaraz Makes Tennis History After Wimbledon Win

Carlos Alcaraz is one of the top young tennis players in recent memory. On Sunday, the Spaniard picked up his second Wimbledon win in a row, topping Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic in three sets.

Alcaraz defeated Djokovic in a match that was never that close. He took the first two sets 6-2 each, but Djokovic made it difficult in the third and final set, forcing the set into a tiebreaker. But Alcaraz pulled through in the end, winning the tiebreak 7-4 and securing the title.

In winning his second consecutive Wimbledon title, Alcaraz made tennis history by becoming the first Spanish player ever to win back-to-back Wimbledon titles.

Rafael Nadal won two Wimbledon titles in 2008 and 2010 but failed to achieve what Alcaraz did Sunday.

Along with his two Wimbledon victories, Alcaraz also won the 2022 US Open and the 2024 French Open.

Before losing to Alcaraz in consecutive Wimbledon title games, Djokovic won the previous two titles in 2021 and 2022. He has seven wins overall.
