From age 31 on, Ella lived in a large suburban home where she raised her two kids – and although the mortgage was paid off, the house was a lot to upkeep.
“I was house-rich and cash-poor,” Ella shared. “Mortgage isn’t everything! You have to think about property taxes, utilities and the million things that go wrong every year when you own a home.”
Downsizing freed up funds she didn’t realize she was sitting on.
“It’s not about living cheap,” she shared. “It’s about having options. I can actually afford to spoil my grandkids now, which is my number one happiness.”
