Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese Combine For Wild WNBA Feat Not Seen Since 2008

Despite the fact they are both only rookies, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are two of the biggest names in the WNBA currently.

While their teams, the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky, respectively, haven't enjoyed a ton of success just yet, both players are proving that the future for their squads is quite bright.

Case in point, Clark and Reese have combined to pull off a wild statistical feat that hasn't been seen in the WNBA since 2008. With Clark leading the league in total assists and Reese leading the league in total rebounds, it's the first time in over 15 years that a pair of rookies have led the league in one of the five major statistical categories.

In 2008, Candace Parker led the league in rebounds, while Alexis Hornbuckle led the league in steals. Now, Clark and Reese are looking to finish the season leading the way in both of these categories just like Parker and Hornbuckle did.

The problem is that they both have some stiff competition. Alyssa Thomas is neck-and-neck with Clark for the assist lead, while A'ja Wilson is right behind Reese in the rebounding department.

While they certainly won't be focused on this storyline, this is just another example of why Clark and Reese have so quickly captivated fans in their first seasons in the WNBA.
