    Lanes reopen on I-15 after car crash in southern Utah

    ORIGINAL STORY: Lanes closed on I-15 after car crash in southern Utah

    WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah ( ABC4 ) — A car crash on southbound I-15 caused lane closures and traffic delays in Washington County on Sunday evening.

    According to the Utah Department of Transportation , the crash happened just before 5:30 p.m. on Sunday and caused lane closures. Southbound I-15 was closed at milepost 42 near Kanarraville after the incident.

    “A crash on SB I-15 at MP 42 (Kanarraville) has closed all lanes. Expect heavy delay or use alt,” an advisory at the top of the UDOT traffic website said on Sunday evening.

    Initial reports indicated the crash may be cleared by 6:25 p.m., but traffic cameras still showed backed-up traffic by 6:30. Traffic was affected for more than an hour after the crash.

    Officials did not immediately provide details about the cause of the crash or if there were any injuries.

    There is no further information at this time.
