Babies R Us makes its return. Where you'll be able to find them in NY

Babies R Us is making a comeback later this year as 25 Kohl's locations throughout New York will house shops filled with baby essentials.

Kohl's announced a partnership with WHP Global, the parent company of Babies R Us, in March to bring "baby gear, furniture, activity and more" to its stores by the fall of 2024.

“Evolving our assortment and bringing more relevant product to the millions of customers we serve is a core focus as we continue to deliver on Kohl’s broader growth strategy,” said Tom Kingsbury, Kohl’s chief executive officer, in a news release in March.

Babies R Us began closing stores in 2018 after its parent company at the time, Toys R Us, filed for bankruptcy. WHP Global acquired both Babies R Us and Toys R Us in 2021.

What will the shops look like?

The Babies R Us shops inside Kohl's will range from 750 to 2,500 square feet of dedicated space, according to WHP Global's March announcement, and will include baby gear, activity, bath, furniture, feeding and safety products.

When will Babies R Us shops open?

According to Kohl's announcement, which was updated most recently at the end of June, the first shops will begin opening in August and all 200 will be open in time for the holidays.
