    Wood County inspections: Reports include cats in bar kitchen and improper use of sanitizer

    The following are the latest results of Wood County Health Department inspections on licensed food establishments and other types of businesses, which the Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune and Marshfield News-Herald report monthly.

    Marshfield

    • Jimmy Johns, 601 N. Central Ave.: June 17: One violation: Sanitizer bucket not at proper concentration.
    • Pour Choices, 113 E. 14th St.: June 11: Two violations: No consumer advisory provided on menu; no test kit available for checking sanitizer concentration in dish machine.

    Nekoosa

    • Switched II Inc., 2609 State 73: June 27: One violation: Test kit not available for checking sanitizer concentration.

    Pittsville

    • Tabby's Blue Bayou, 5589 First Ave.: June 26: One violation: Cats seen in kitchen and bar area.

    • 17Sixteen, 1716 Baker St.: June 12: Two violations: Sanitizer not being used according to label instructions (corrected during inspection); no test kit available for monitoring sanitizer concentration.
    • Boys & Girls Club of the Wisconsin Rapids Area, 501 W. Grand Ave.: June 26: No violations.
    • Gordie's Pub & Grille, 2962 State 73 N.: June 24: One violation: No covered waste receptacle in women's bathroom.
    • Great Expectations, 311 Lincoln St.: June 17: No violations.
    • Hokkaido Japanese Restaurant, 3310 Eighth St. S.: June 27: Five violations: Cabbage and noodles in the four-drawer line cooler not held at proper temperature; bleach used in food establishment for sanitizing food contact surfaces is not approved; improper cooling methods used for shrimp, chicken and potatoes; test kit not available for checking sanitizer concentrations; cardboard used to line shelves in the walk-in cooler and on the cooks' line.
    • Kellner International Bar, 1204 80th St. S.: June 19: No violations.
    • Posh Inn & Suites Breakfast, 3120 Eighth St. S.: June 13: Three violations: Bleach sanitizer used in food establishment not approved; test kit not available for checking sanitizer concentration; no approved food protection manager's certificate posted.
    • The Pour House, 3140 Lake Ave.: June 10: Four violations: Dishwasher not sanitized after cleaning; no test kit for monitoring sanitizer concentrations; floor tiles cracked/missing in kitchen; toilet room doors not kept closed (corrected during inspection).
    • Rapids Area Sports Complex, 1801 16th St. S.: June 19: One violation: Test kit not available for checking sanitizer concentration.
    • Wurk Bar, 212 W. Grand Ave.: June 27: No violations.
