    Man wanted in 100+ mph chase; nearly hit 2 deputies in North Carolina

    OXFORD, N.C. (WNCN) — A man is wanted after he was accused of leading deputies on a chase and almost hitting two of them with his car, according to the Granville County Sheriff’s Office.

    At about 2 p.m. Saturday, deputies said they attempted to arrest Kevin Ryan Lassiter on outstanding warrants.

    During the attempt, deputies said Lassiter drove off in a vehicle and almost hit two of them with his car.

    A chase ensued reaching speeds above 100 miles per hour, according to the sheriff’s office.

    Deputies said the chase went to into Vance County, where Lassiter abandoned his vehicle and escaped on foot.

    They said his vehicle was seized and the following warrants were obtained for his arrest:

    • Flee/Elude arrest (felony)
    • Resisting public officer (misdemeanor)
    • Aggressive driving (misdemeanor)
    • Two counts of assault with a deadly weapon against an officer (felony)

    The sheriff’s office shared a photo of Lassiter to help people identify him.

    According to investigators, Lassiter is known to carry guns and large sums of cash.

    “Kevin Lassiter will flee from law enforcement as previously demonstrated,” the sheriff’s office said.

    Anyone with information about Lassiter’s whereabouts is asked to contact Granville County 911, the Granville County Sheriff’s Office, or Crime Stoppers.
