The era of NIL and the transfer portal has arrived in college football and seems to be a permanent change. However, that's not the only transformation occurring in the sport.

According to a report from On3 , the NCAA will shift toward a revenue-sharing model after settling three antitrust cases in the House vs. NCAA case. This model will allow schools to pay athletes directly. That has received mixed feelings from those who support college football.

In an episode of Doug Bell's podcast , former Clemson Tigers head coach Tommy Bowden suggested that college sports should consider having two co-commissioners. He mentioned that he believes former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban and Inside the NBA analyst Charles Barkley would be great candidates for this role due to the unique angles and perspectives they bring to college football.

“Let Nick Saban and Charles Barkley be co-commissioners," Bowden said. "They both bring perspective and unique angles to college football and what’s needed in the college game from the professional aspect, NIL. Let Charles Barkley and Nick Saban be co-commissioners, and they’ll have it cleared up in two years."

Bowden stated that Barkley would bring a common-sense approach to the problem. Saban would be a good choice because he already has a plan to address the points he feels are necessary. Saban mentioned at the Jimmy Rain Charity Golf Banquet that the No. 1 thing the sport needs to address is the lawsuits, as they could potentially break the NCAA and college football.

While many have mentioned Saban as a good fit for the job , Barkley may seem like an odd choice. But to Bowden, there aren't two better people.
