BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — From previous experience, Sheriff Donny Youngblood joined 17 News Sunrise to discuss the security levels taken when dealing with important events.

Regarding Trump’s recent assassination attempt, Sheriff Youngblood runs through his experience in patrolling and making sure former president Trump’s arrival and presence, back in February 2020, Kern County, was as safe and secure as possible.

State lawmakers share their concerns over Trump attack

The Sheriff says security should have been handled with more caution, “We have a lot of questions. I think the public is going to demand some answers. This is a failed episode no matter what level you want to look at. People got shot, the [former] president got shot. They failed,” to what had occurred on Saturday during one of Trump’s rallies in Butler, Pennsylvania.
