Here are some of the newest California state jobs offering high wages in Sacramento County, according to CalCareers:
Staff psychiatrist | L imited term, full-time
- Department: California Correctional Health Care (Sacramento County)
- Salary : $23,915 to $29,492 per month
The psychiatrist provides evaluations, diagnoses and treatment to patients.
This position is limited to a 12-month-term but could be extended an additional year or become permanent.
A hybrid works schedule is available, according to CalCareers.

Dentist | Limited term, full-time
- Department : California Correctional Health Care Services
- Salary : $19,059 to $30,190 per month
The dentist provides dental care to inmates.
The in-person position requires overseeing a group of staff and maintaining order among inmates, CalCareers stated.
The 12-month term could be extended an additional year or become permanent.

Investment manager | Permanent full-time
- Department : Public Employees Retirement System
- Salary : $15,250 to $25416.67 per month
The manager oversees a data-driven team.
A hybrid work schedule is supported when in combination with some required weekly in-person attendance, CalCareers stated.

Public health medical officer (epidemiology) | Permanent full-time
- Department : Public Health

The medical officer uses scientific and medical knowledge to prioritize health equity.
Though there is one position available, it’s advertised in both Sacramento and Contra Costa counties.
The successful candidate will be stationed in the nearest county to their residence, where a telework schedule will be available.
