    Tornado warning issued for parts of upstate New York

    The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a Tornado Warning for:

    • Ontario County
    • Wayne County

    Effective Until: 5:15 p.m.

    At 4:40 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Bloomfield, or near Canandaigua, moving east at 55 mph.

    Source: Radar indicated rotation.

    Hazard: Tornado and haile

    Impact: Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes may be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles is expected. Tree damage is likely.

    Locations impacted: Geneva, Canandaigua, Newark, Lyons, Bristol, Clifton Springs, Clyde, Phelps, Bloomfield, and Farmington.
