Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are battling it out for the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year trophy in their first professional campaigns.

Both first-year players are shattering WNBA records at every turn — and both are making exceedingly strong cases to take home the rookie award.

That being said, long-time sports media personality Dan Patrick doesn't think the race is particularly close.

During the most recent episode of The Dan Patrick Show , Patrick dubbed the debate "silly" — saying Clark is the clear WNBA Rookie of the Year.

"Caitlin Clark has a bullseye on her back every single game. You must stop her," Patrick said. "I don't think you look at Chicago and say 'If we stop Angel Reese, we're going to win.'

"That's why this is a silly argument. Caitlin Clark is the Rookie of the Year."

Clark averages 16.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and leads the league with 7.8 assists per game. Reese averages a double-double with 13.5 points and a league-leading 12.0 rebounds per game.
