(WHTM) — The non-profit organization, the Communities in Schools of Pennsylvania (CISPA), has been awarded a substantial amount of money in Scaling for Success funding for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.

The non-profit received $191,000 in grant funding which will allow it to help four new schools in Pennsylvania, including Cedar Crest Middle School, Paradise Elementary School, and Upper Dauphin Middle School. The program provides critical coordinated resources for students in need, including food, health check-ups, or extra academic help.

Lyndsey Sturkey, the VP of CISPA, said: “Programs like ours are designed to help students get whatever additional supports that they may need, even help out their families, if appropriate, and just make sure that students are equipped with the tools that they need to come to school each day, ready to learn and to stay in school through graduation.”

CISPA has already served more than 18,000 students.
