STRONGS PRAIRIE − A 38-year-old Strongs Prairie woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash early Friday evening in Adams County.

At 5:49 p.m. Friday, a caller reported a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Wisconsin 21 and Adams County Z in the town of Strongs Prairie. The caller reported multiple people were injured and some were trapped inside vehicles, according to the Adams County Sheriff's Office.

A Ford F150 was going south on Adams County Z and failed to stop at the stop sign on State 21, according to the Sheriff's Office. The truck hit a Volkswagen Jetta going east on State 21.

Emergency personnel had to remove the driver of the Jetta. The driver was transported to Gundersen Moundview Hospital and was treated and released, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Life Link III helicopter took one of the occupants of the pickup to Marshfield Medical Center where the person remained in critical condition on Monday, according to the Sheriff's Office. The other occupant of the pickup, Sharon M. Peterson, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Neither person in the F150 was wearing a seatbelt and deputies are investigating who was driving.
