The Pocatello Post 4 Runnin’ Rebels AA team ended the Bozeman Bucks AA Invitational on a whimper Sunday.

It dropped its final two games to finish the four-day event 3-2 overall.

The Runnin’ Rebels (23-10) actually started the weekend Saturday with an 11-3 win over the Post 400 Stars 18U team. But they then dropped their final two games beginning later that same day Saturday with a 11-3 loss to the Bozeman Bucks AA team before just falling 7-6 to the Kalispell Lakers Sunday.

Colt Durham tallied two hits and a RBI in the lone win.

Kache Stucki, Daxton Poulson, Jack Mattox and Elias Blackhawk all drove in two runs apiece. Stucki also earned the win on the hill by allowing just three hits and one earned run.

Gunner Wilhelm was the only player in the nightcap to record more than one hit with two in the loss Saturday.

Sunday’s defeat saw their two-out rally in the bottom of the seventh come up painstakingly short. The tying run was just 90 feet away at third base with the winning run right behind at second. But Stucki struck out swinging to end the comeback bid.

Blackhawk notched two hits and two RBIs in the loss.
