    Crews respond to large sawmill fire in Lawrence County

    LAWRENCE COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Fire personnel in Lawrence County spent part of their Monday night extinguishing a large sawmill mill fire in the Ethridge area.

    According to Lawrence County Fire and Rescue, units were sent to the blaze in the Ethridge area at 10:30 p.m. on Monday, July 15.

    First responders said Ethridge fire units arrived first and reported they saw heavy flames and at least two 500-gallon diesel fuel trucks on scene.

    The fire was put out “rather quickly” due to an aggressive attack alongside a large scale water operation, said Lawrence County Fire and Rescue.

    It remains unclear what led to the blaze. Additional information about the incident was not immediately released.
