    Darlington man jailed on attempted murder charge in May shooting

    DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A man was jailed Friday on an attempted murder charge after allegedly shooting someone in the chest in May, the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office said.

    Leroy Gattison of Darlington was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He remains in the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center where he was booked Friday evening on a $15,000 bond, online jail records show.

    Deputies responded on May 24 to Red Camellia Drive in the Darlington area for a shooting, the sheriff’s office said. When they arrived, they found a man who had been shot in the chest. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was treated.
