UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for Jefferson, Lewis; Watch for St. Lawrence County

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – Another day and another Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Jefferson, St. Lawrence and Lewis counties.

UPDATE: the watch has been updated to a Severe Thunderstorm warning for Jefferson and Lewis counties that will last until 2:15 p.m. A tornado warning is in effect for Jefferson County until 2:30 p.m. That warning expired.

St. Lawrence County added to Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 6 p.m. tonight after 2 p.m.

The National Weather Service in Buffalo issued the watch at 11:05 a.m. for most of Northern and Central New York until 6 p.m. tonight. A total of 15 counties were included in the watch.

Severe thunderstorms rolled through the area on Monday evening and could do the same again today.

Some of these storms could produce heavy rains, strong wind and lightning.
